our ingredients

With so many claims out there in the world of skin care and 'miracle' on trend ingredients that come and go, it is easy to be confused about which ingredients to choose, what their real benefits are & why they are included within a product.

At Dermogenera we utilise a selection of functional ingredients along with principal actives within our products with a focus to promote healthier skin over time.

When it comes to making positive skin changes and getting long term results, there is no miracle instant cure & no single product or ingredient that will work alone, it is necessary to adapt a good skin care regime & attend professional treatments by trained skin specialists.

The skin's requirements for healthy function are actually relatively simple, the basics of keeping your skin looking healthy are;

Purify cleanse twice daily removing dead skin cells & dirt without stripping the skin & disturbing its balance.

Hydrate to deliver & boost the natural moisturising factors of the skin.

Repair with ingredients that help stimulate cellular processes & provide nourishment.

Protect;

  1. Ingredients that prevent damage from damaging external factors such as antioxidants.

  2. Ingredients that help prevent the loss of natural moisturising factors & protect the lipid barrier such as essential nutrients.

  3. Ingredients that prevent damage from UV radiation.

Choosing the right ingredients is important, whether they are playing an essential role such as providing hydration, in reducing inflammation, for rejuvenative function or are included within a formula to increase the effectiveness of other ingredients when combined.

When we decide which ingredients to include in a formulation, we don't simply select according to trend and whatever the latest buzz word is for marketing purposes, instead we make our preparations based on experience, knowledge, proven clinical results, research & testing.

That does not mean that we do not introduce new ingredients and technologies, as a brand we are constantly researching & trialling new ingredients in order to bring our clients the latest skin care innovation, but always with consideration for proven results and overall benefit.

Developing a new formulation takes time to ensure the desired results are achieved, each of our products have been carefully considered with the percentage of ingredients chosen to optimise overall product function. Whilst we use natural ingredients often, so many benefits can be found in nature, we also select the highest quality synthetic options for increased efficacy, stability & safety.

We have put together some of our main ingredients used within the Dermogenera skin care range, to provide information on their individual benefits, to help explain their function & explain why we have chosen to select them to provide the best results from your skin care.
